Taking a bath after a tiring day while soaking in lukewarm water plus a few drops of your favorite essential oil will really make us feel relaxed. Add each 3 – 5 drops of your favorite 3 essential oils in warm water in a bath-tub and stir until evenly distributed. Soak in it for about 20 minutes. Its eseential oil will seep into the skin and its properties will last for quite a long time.
Essential oils can also be poured in a bucket if you do not use a bath-tab. Choose essential oil that dissolves in water, because there is oil that does not dissolve in water. For foot care, you can soak your feet in a bucket of warm water added 2 – 3 drops of essential oil for about 30 minutes.
This is the most commonly used aromatherapy application because it provides two uses of touch and sensing. Touch with massage can improve blood flow, neutralize toxins in the body and release the energy trapped in stiff muscles. While sensing through the scent will trigger a feeling of relaxation, fresh and healthy
The impregnation of essential oil through massage is quite high. For massage essential oil must be mixed with carrier oil such as sunflower oil, coconut, olive, sesame or other vegetable oil. Avoid using essential oil without mixing it with carrier oil. For that mix 10 drops or about 1 teaspoon essential oil with 30 ml carrier oil. This massage oil mixture will be very refreshing.
Compress is used to heal swollen parts of the body, reduce pain or reduce fever. Compress can use both warm and cold water.
* Compress warm water. Add 2 – 3 drops of essential oil in a basin of warm water. Dip a piece of cloth or a small towel in the water that has been given the perfume oil, then wring out the cloth / towel. Put a cloth / towel over the body of the sick and let stand for about 2 hours. Essential oil used for the purpose of this compress is lavender oil that will trigger a feeling of less pain in the bruising, skin problems and pre-menstrual syndrome.
* Compress cold water. Add 6 ice-cubes in a water-filled basin, then add 2 to 3 drops of essential oil. Dip a small towel until the cold water is absorbed, then wring it out. Put a cold towel on the sore area. Cold water compresses are good for burns, foot blisters, rheumatism, sore muscles and headaches. Doing facial massage and compress in turn is very beneficial for skin health.
The aroma of essential oil can be inhaled directly by dripping 3 – 5 drops of essential oil into a boiling water basin that emits steam. Cover your head and face with a towel over the basin and then vaporize the fragrance. Steam will open the pores of the skin to encourage oil absorption. This is better than just doing facial massage.
After the water is used for evaporation, the hot water can still be used for air freshener by putting the basin under the bed for example. Splashing a few drops of essential oil on a handkerchief and occasionally inhaling it gives long-lasting benefits. While sprinkling 1 – 2 drops on the pillow ensures you will sleep soundly and dream beautifully.
- HEATING WITH HEATING
This method requires a heater that is usually made of ceramic or clay. This tool has a basin that has a heater or wax underneath to boil a mixture of essential oil dripped in a hollow. The oil will evaporate and scent the room with a pleasing fragrance of feeling. It takes about 5-6 hours for all of its essential oil to evaporate.
To get a long evaporation effect, make sure the heater uses castor oil, known as a very efficient fuel oil. This can be used to create a pleasant atmosphere in the bedrooms, family rooms, meeting rooms and hotels.
Using the right essential oil will give you a positive and relaxed feeling. This method can also be used to repel insects with the appropriate essential oil.
This method is also often used to replace unpleasant smells in an instant. We know many commercial air freshener products that we can choose, although we also know the negative effects on the environment from the use of this fragrance aerosol. Well, preparing your own fragrance oil mixture is very enjoyable, because you can create unique fragrances of your own different from the fragrances that circulate in the market.
For body spraying, add each 5 drops of 3 essential oils to your favorite 90 ml water. Mix it properly in a sprayer. Spray the fragrance of your creations into your body or use to spray the room.

- USE OF OTHER ESSENTIAL OILS
Pot pourri is a herb, flowers, leaves and dried grass mixed then sprinkled with essential oil in a plate or a small basket. Fragrances can last long enough about 4-6 weeks. Another good way is to keep a mixture of pourri pots in a box or container that is covered for one night in advance so that the essential oil is completely absorbed. Open the box the next morning and let the fragrance fill the room.
There are several trials to swallow essential oil through the mouth. But this should be done with close supervision of an experienced therapist. In fact, there are only a few types of essential oils that can be drunk and devoted specifically to overcome certain conditions such as digestive problems.
Some essential oils are powerful and non-toxic insect repellents. This oil can be sprinkled easily on pillows, mattresses or by using an electric heater. After mixing it with carrier oil, this mixed oil can be smeared on the skin before bed. Lemongrass oil is good for repelling winged insects, tea trees for ants and mites, thyme for ticks, camphor for moths, and citronella for mosquitoes.
